CED AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND Training Days 13 Oct 2016

Thursday 9th and Friday 10th of December

Scope:

The training days are for users and prospective users of Spike2 and Signal. The courses are designed so that delegates can attend either one or both days. There are two separate core “threads”, each consisting of four sessions of approximately one hour on both days, with some optional workshop sessions planned. For those wanting more, a general workshop will run for an hour after the last session on Thursday, and there is an ‘early bird’ session over coffee for an hour before the formal start on Friday morning.

The program includes a worked examples session for Spike2 and a workshop detailing the new features in Signal for patch, voltage and dynamic clamping. Popular sessions such as the Analysis section of the Spike2 thread are delivered over two sessions, as there is too much to digest in a single session. Workshops are designed with small groups in mind to discuss how CED systems can help in the recording and analysis of specific data types. Often we ‘create’ an experiment using attendee’s data or our own examples. Please bring along any data you would like to look at. Scripts can also be written to illustrate analyses not covered by built-in functions.

Session One:Optimising combined EEG and TMS measurement.
Practical workshop on Image-guided neuronavigation for TMS and multimodal imaging (combined EEG-TMS): setup, data acquisition and artifact minimisation.

During this session you will work with the following:
TMS compatible BrainAmp DC and BrainCap with Multitrodes, BrainSight TMS Neuronavigation and Deymed TMS

Session Two:Advanced EEG/ERP signal recording
Theory and hands-on session: EEG/ERP data acquisition, recording systems, recording with emphasis on exact timing of the simulation and individual channel localisation.

During this session you will work with the following:
actiCHamp Active electrode system, StimTrak, Photo Sensor and CapTrak

Session Three:

BrainVision Analyzer2
Overview of BrainVision Analyzer2, ERP Analysis methods and artifact rejection.

During this session you will work with the following:
BrainVision Analyzer2

  • Including pre-processing, artifact handling, calculation of individual and group averages, visualization and result export and Introduction to Wavelet analysis.
  • Tricks around BrainVision Analyzer 2

Workshop | fNIRS (in Person) 11th July 2022

Symbiotic Devices is hosting an fNIRS Workshop as part of the ABPS Meeting 2022.

Introduction to fNIRS Measurement and Analysis

Outline:
In this workshop we will conduct a simple experiment and discuss practical considerations around
fNIRS data collection and experimental design. After discussing the various software packages for
analysis we will then analyse the dataset as a group. This will include loading the data, discussing
visualisation and data quality metrics, stepping through the required preprocessing steps, and
finally performing a waveform and GLM analysis.
